The evidence is clear
In 1959, Turkish army captain Durupinar was reviewing high altitude NATO photos of eastern Turkey when he spotted a boat shape formation in the mountains. A 1960 team from the USA visited the site but went away puzzled. In 1977, Ron Wyatt visited the site and kept researching it and the evidence was compelling. So in 1987, the government held a ground breaking ceremony for their visitors center overlooking the site.
